Josiah Update

For all those asking how our little boy is here’s the latest.

In the last few days he has started bottle feeding again – and he is doing well – they are increasing the milk every 12 hours and decreasing his IV feed. He was very uncomfortable for the last 3 days before feeding – probably for 2 reasons Firstly he was probably hungry and secondly they weaned his pain killer Fentanyl which we discovered is a narcotic with an analgesic potency 80 times that of morphine – no wonder he was a little cranky!

The events of this week have been

1) His eye exam shows he is still dealing with ROP at Zone 2, Stage 2 – So please pray for his eyes

2) He was shaking quite alot last week so they were talking about seizures or cerebral palsy – however the head ultrasound came back clear – and we are believing that the shaking was largely down to withdrawal from the Fentanyl – however he has got tight muscle tone – His arms don’t extend fully – so he is being worked at with the Occupational Therapist so he doesn’t have any problems crawling – Pray for this.

3) He is increasing feedings and decreasing oxygen support so pray that this will continue

For those interested in his weight, last night he was 4lb 7oz – So he is putting on weight

Again thank you for all your prayers and support

This has been a particularly busy week for me as we shot the first 5 GOD TV Daily Devotional Programmes on Monday.

Blessings
